Roger’s 75th Bash

The Calendar is no friend of us oldies. In a couple of months I will pass into my fourth quarter of a century. I’m certain there’s some grammatical error there!
So let’s go. I’ve decided to celebrate this coming Birthday; as I couldn’t do the last biggie – because we we’re all locked down. The next one, in five years, is scary, squeeky-bum time. I can’t contemplate EIGHTY – I remember Mom at Eighty! It’ll be getting close to that Judgement day!
I hope I have some more miles in the tank – but only God knows!
There’s a form below – please complete it and Submit it (for vetting!)
So we chose a venue that is central and actually is in a Town close to my heart. My daughter Sarah offered her place of work and I grabbed the opportunity. It’s a great place and a project that ticks all my boxes. If/when I’d live closer I’d be a volunteer (if she’d have me!).
So check out Home – Doddridge Community Centrefor all the information you need of its place and purpose – it’s there. We are welcome to celebrate there. Thanks to the Trustees, Management and Staff.
There’s off road parking in the Centre Car Park and some parking in the. streets surrounding. The railway Station is about 400yds walk away: a good service to London or Rugby, Midlands and North. Some local shops too.
The Centre is on the A45 from the M1 – don’t ask me to describe quite how you get there – check Google Maps or a SatNav of your choice.
I don’t need or want presents – I don’t deserve stuff! Unless it’s a Martin D45 or a nice Gibson Hummingbird! – just give a donation to the Doddridge.
Don’t bring cake! I’m not a fan! Bring a Gala pie and some Samosas instead! There will be a light buffet, wine and hot/cold beverages and there’s a little kitchen. It’s going to be a feast of friendship:: not food! You can have a meal at home!
If you’d like to sing a song or play a tune or two – there will be a little PA. I plan to do a bit of a cabaret of ?memorable songs? Remember I’m the star today (one day only!)
I’d like to thank all my family (I mean generations together and In-Laws). You’ve all kept me sane(ish). I certainly would not have made it to 75 without Kym. She’s been my anchor.
Come as you are – that’s how I remember you. That’s how I want to be remembered. we have to be mindful that the next time we get together like this – might be to consider where you spread my ashes and “wasn’t he a wonderful, caring guy!”
Hopefully I can make a video to share of my childhood. But I won’t make any promises.
All my love to you,
Roger

the draft Program is:-
